Here are some programs that are widely used:

Microsoft Internet Explorer
Netscape Mail - included in Netscape
Eudora - free 30 day demo may be downloaded
Pegasus - freeware that may be downloaded

Mailing Lists

There are a number of software programs for managing mailing lists. As a subscriber (and to complete this tutorial!), you don't need to have any special software. Only the list owner does. The software sites usually include a user's guide.

Some of the more popular programs:

Majordomo

IRC

There are many different IRC programs.
Many are shareware, where you can try it out before paying money.
Most shareware sites will have a variety of currently available programs.
Look at:

mIRC ver. 4.72 32-bit is used for illustration in this project.
