Jan's Working with Numbers

    Design: Exercise Excel 5-6

It's time for you to take flight on your own!

Exercise Excel 5-6:

On Your Own

What you will do: Design a What-If sheet yourself

Create a What-If sheet of your own that is a tool to help you look at the effects of various possibilities.

You may base your What-If sheet on a sheet you created for one of the other projects or you may start something new. You might create a grade calculator for one of your classes using the actual grading scheme your teacher uses. Or you could design a budget planner for yourself or for a club you are in.

Follow all of the Planning Checklist steps.

Design a sheet that looks great when printed rather than being very concerned about how it looks on screen. It should print on 1 page, in either portrait or landscape orientation.

You must include:

  1. assumed (fixed) values
  2. input or changeable values
  3. calculated values
  4. comment(s) that contain the documentation
  5. formatting that shows clearly which values are fixed, which are input, which are calculated, which are final results
  6. Your name in the header along with the file name and date.

Print your sheet.
