Jan's Working with Numbers:

Example of Excel table embedded in a Word document

Home > Jan's CompLit 101 > Working with Numbers > Appendix

Word document with Excel table embedded as an object

When the table is double-clicked, the ribbon changes.

A special window appears for editing in place.

Double-click the object to edit in place with the original program.

Now you can make changes, like changing number of decimal places.
Changes do not affect the original source for the Excel data.

Click out of the embedded object. Changes still show. Ribbon returns to Word's ribbon.

Return to the lesson Sharing Data: Embed.
