Right Click Menu: Open link... Sometimes you'd like to be able to keep your place on a web page while you follow a link shown on that page. You can do this by opening the link in a new browser window or in a new tab. Just right click on the link and choose a command, Open in New Window or Open in a New Tab

You can travel the web in the two windows or tabs separately.

Icon: TipOpening in a new window or tab is great when a web page loads slowly. You can switch over to the second window and do something there while you wait. Of course both pages might load slowly!

ÜOpen this link in a new window and then again in a new tab.

If your browser is maximized, you may not notice right away that a new window was created. A new window can be opened automatically when you click on some links, or when a sound file or video plays. Between the extra windows you open yourself and those that may open on their own, you can wind up with more copies of your browser open than you realize. Check the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen to see how many windows and tabs are open. You can close the extras, if you want. As long as one copy of the browser is open, you're still in business.
