Why do I offer downloads and discs of the lessons?

To keep from charging for web access to the lessons! The site has gotten more popular than my pocketbook can afford!  All products have the same content as the live web site. It's just more convenient to have it all on your own computer. Plus, the download and disc versions do not show ads.

Download

Time Allowed: A download will be active for only 7 days or a limited number of attempts, whichever comes first!! The number of attempts depends on several factors but ranges between 4 and 14. Too many attempts from different computers will also de-activate the download.

I can reset the downloads if you run out of attempts. Email me and include your order number and a description of what happened. Sometimes the problem is not with the download itself.

Online File Backup Protection: This option for download products allows you to download for a year, even if the product is no longer offered. Very useful if your hard drive crashes!

License to copy Disc/Download for students: This is a license for a teacher/institution to burn copies of the disc copy for their students. You can charge your students only enough to cover the license ($5 each copy) and the actual cost to make the copy (the media). Obviously you must also order a download/disc to have something to copy. As soon as the order is processed, you will get an email certifying your license. It's not suitable for framing, but it should be good enough for oversight committees! What do you get?

• License for personal use of the course material in your download or disc. 
  (The live web site is free.)
   
• Lessons - current version in the language that you select (English or Spanish), just like what is on the web.

  Jan's Working with Databases:

     Working with Databases (using Access), in English only
  (The databases lesson set is available separately due to the size of the download file.)

• License for Classroom use: Complete the Permissions Form to use the materials with your class. With permission, a teacher may install the purchased course materials onto the computers in one classroom or computer lab and on one personal computer outside of the class. (See above for info on ordering discs or a license to copy discs for your students.)

Version History

What's New lists site changes and version releases. There is usually some delay before changes on the live site are available in the download and on disc to allow for error reports and the complex process of removing the ads and other setup issues. The download and disc versions are updated after major changes but not after minor corrections and updates.

Languages: To get the same lessons in both English and Spanish requires two separate orders.

Teachers/instructors: For a free license to use my materials with your students, please read the Permissions page and complete the Permissions Form. This will get you into my database. This is needed whether or not you purchase a download or disc.
