Jan's Working with Words

    Report: Finish

Now that you have learned a bit about tables, you can add one to your report. Though it may seem like the report will be finished then, there are a number of chores to do before you are truly done.

Table of Contents: A table of contents adds a lot to a long document. Word can help, if you use paragraph styles.

Adjust Length: Sometimes your document is just a little bit too long. You wind up with a line or two on a page all alone. Such a waste of paper! You can make a number of different kinds of adjustments to fix this. When the extra bits are not too long, Word can even shrink the whole document by one page.

Sections: Longer documents often need to use more than one page layout. That's where sections help.

File Properties: There are several file properties than can help manage a number of things about your document. You will take a look at some of them.

Spell Check and Preview: ALWAYS spell check and preview before you finally print!

Each of the lessons is rather short this time.
